Changing Wi-Fi hotspot wireless channel

If you experience an unstable wireless connection to your router's Wi-Fi hotspot, it may help changing the channel. Remember, you need to establish a connection to the router web interface.

Step 1 of 8

Click Advanced settings.

Click Wireless and, if required, follow the instructions on the screen to key in the administrator password.

You can see the administrator password behind the cover on the back of your router.

Click Rescan below the required Wi-Fi network and wait a moment while your router scans for the best available channel.

Step 4 of 8

Click the drop down list next to "Channels:".

Step 5 of 8

Click the required channel.

If you select “Smart”, your router automatically switches to the best available channel.
Step 6 of 8

Click Set.

Step 7 of 8

Click Save.

Step 8 of 8

Click Yes. You can now establish a connection to your Wi-Fi hotspot using the new channel.
