Turning on Prepare to Ship
Prepare to Ship discharges your phone’s battery to below 20 Wh and sets a charging limit so that the phone remains below this limit during shipping. You need to turn on the function, e.g., if you send your phone in for repair, replacement, return or to another person. When the phone is reactivated, the restriction is removed and the battery’s full charging capacity will be available again. To activate the function you need to set up your phone for internet or establish a connection to a Wi-Fi network.
Press Settings.
Press General.
Press Transfer or Reset iPhone.
Press Prepare to Ship.
Press Repair, Trade-In or Return.
Press Continue and follow the instructions on the screen to turn on the function. Please note that if you change your mind, you won't be able to turn off the function until 14 days have passed.
Press Other and wait while the function is turned on.
Press Done.
Slide your finger upwards starting from the bottom of the screen to return to the home screen.
